FINALLY
[glow=red,2,300]TORREY PINES[/glow]
A challenge that requires an honorable mention to EA
TourPro® No Focus No Meter No Zoom
(i think no putt meter, i never use them or look for them, so i'm not sure) A true challenge the way it should be I enjoyed my morning run like none other this season
I managed a (-3) ... sure I had a few opportunities I missed But I accept those the same as I accept the lucky breaks
BEST OF LUCK GUY'S EDIT: Just had a peek at scores during my lunch break. Frenchy, JC, & Ski (have conspired to kick me from the top 5! ;D Lookin good guy's![/center]

Well - I thought my remote was broken when I started playing! (I rarely check the settings before I start. ) I have played TP enough to have a pretty good idea of where to aim for most drives to stay in the fairway. Great challenge - hope there are more "fun" challenges such as this. Overall play was my normal - nothing great and some bad putts. HOWEVER...... I got a VERY lucky chip in eagle on 18 to finish with a -6. I was just off the front right edge of the green from about 17 yards - just trying for a birdie. ;D ;D JT

I'm not well known for my patience, so it was no surprise that I ran out after the front 9 The front 9 was a bit of a struggle (although I had thumper birdies on 1 and 2) as most of my guesses on approach shots were wrong. I finished the front at -3 with a par on the par 5 9th. To this point, I had watched all the pre-hole flyovers and even ran a few of them again. On the back 9, since I was just having to guess anyway, I decided to skip the flyovers. I played the back 9 in -6 with birdies at 10, 12, 13, 14, 17 and 18 (three of these with thumpers). I finished at -9 with no bogeys. If only the game had some sort of a caddy to give you distances in these situations ;D TMan

This is what EA needs to do for TW13. Ditch the zoom altogether and get a caddy that just tells you the yardages.

@ Holy ... I don't think EA listens to anything these days. They are just showing the "control they keep close", by teasing us! ;D I agree the aim zoom should be eliminated in all PTP & Thursday sets.
@ TMan ... Mighty nice round for having impatience with it bud! I played once more with SEVEHEAT .. did a little better that time. (he almost caught you) ;D
@ JT ... Nothing that I can remember! ;D

Hello Ladies & Gent's
While having a few laughs with the Tuesday TourPro guy's, I noticed a stat @ the bottom of the page, showing user's in the past 24 hrs ... 2 staff, 5 members (you usuals know who you are) ... and [glow=red,2,300]47 guests[/glow]
Now I have no clue how many "guests" are members cruising by here to see if anything catches their attention, but I wondered how great it would be if each of those members signed in for a few minutes - check out what you want to check - maybe reply with an opinion or two about any subjects on the board .. and give Holy & JT some support. They after all - support the other arena's they are members of in a big way.
Also, if you are a TourPro player, but not a member .. this could be your best venue to concentrate on your TourPro game. (challenging and having fun with puppies .. is my best side)! But the "DOGS" get no free ride from me either!
If we can add enough of what I know to be a great number of great people interested in the "dark side" of this game ... I can start letting my imagination run away with me - and work with Holy & JT - to bring some fun events that would include any of your idea's from everyone here.
OK, enough rambling from the "SEVE-BLOG"
But I seriously think Holy & JT have earned our respect and admiration in our TW12 community. Let's give them the support they deserve returned to them - that they gladly give to the EA forum, and the various other clubs. Such as: (Ideas, Participation, Commentary, Video, Expertise) .... in every corner they are welcomed at.
OK .. "SEVE-BLOG" over!

Seve that is an amazing post you've just written there. If you don't mind could I use it in a guest area? I think it would be a great thing for guests to see!

Got my round done late last night with a fantastic -10
I had not played for three days, so I trully did not know what to expect -- and with no zoom, I set "anything below par" as my goal.
I started with birdie at #1 using a slightly lofted wedge approach (rated at 148 yards) to within 9 feet of the hole. At #2, I remembered the close OB behind the green so I clubed down. Well, I got a surprising thumper to go to -2. At the #3 par-3, I purposedly clubbed down to leave it short of the green, which led to an easy pitch + putt for par. I also got pars at #4 and #5.
The highlight of the front 9 came at the par-5 #6. My tee shot was perfect, landing just on the edge of the FW and bouncing to the middle, leaving a straight open shot into the green. I clubbed down (better to be short and play for birdie here) and instead got another thumper to within 7 feet for an easy eagle. I pared #7. At the par-3 #8, I aimed for the patch of FW to the left of the front bunker. I did not have enough club and landed in the bunker, with a 70% or so recovery. I clubed up the pitch shot, which landed 2 feet from the hole (big sight or relief.) At #9 I aimed to just land on the center front of the green, so I clubbed down. The ball landed in the FW and rolled to just 12 ft from the hole. I slammed it in to go out with a 31 or -5.
The back started with a long birdie putt at #10 and par at #11. The best stretch followed: birdies at #12, #13, and #14. The best shot was the second at #14. This is a tricky one, as going long can send the ball into the ravine for OB. The game suggested a wedge rated at about 124 yards (if I remember correctly). I clubbed down to the 106-yard wedge and got a thumper. So I was -9 after 14 holes.
I pared #s 15, 16 and 17. At #18 I played for birdie (as I always do no matter what), to reach -10.
Fun round, and I wish EA would give us more no-zoom rounds.
Motnola
PS: Good post indeed Seve.
