Wow DGG your lucky you got so many great courses you can go to. I can get to Wentworth quite easily and will also try to go to Sandwich in Kent where the British Open this year. I think they offer a fast train service which only takes about an hour from where I am!

my closest and home course would be Liberty National, and thats why it was picked as the fictional HQ's of The IWGC.
for years EA was doing a good job of getting topical venues in the game, but thats just one of the balls they dropped this year. the first leg of the Fed-Ex Cup, The Barclays, will be at The Plainfield Country Club this year, on the border of Plainfield and the north part of Edison NJ. this would have been about a 10 minute drive from where i lived a good deal of my life. this course pretty much adjoins a cemetery where my father and paternal grandparents are buried.

another good choice would be to get Baltusrol into the game, located in Union NJ. it was the location of the 1993 US Open, which i was lucky to attend. back in the day, the corporate buddies would hook you up with the whole 8 day pass (in case of an 18 hole tiebreaker on Monday)
i got some decent stories from the experience, maybe a little clouded by the 100 and something degree heat that week.
Mark Calcavechia putting with his driver, cuz he got $%### )^% and broke his putter.
a journeyman pro named Vance Haffner, who hit a pretty mediocre approach to a par-4 green. as he walked up, the stands were kinda quiet. he announced that it was ok to cheer, because that was good for him. we all broke out in laughter and cheered the guy.
following John Daly around and cheering him on. it got me a nod and a tip of the hat. on day one or two, he drove the long par-5 17th in two, 600 and some whatever yards. markings where put on the fairway where his drive landed.
7 hours of baking in the sun on sunday at the 18th grand stands. late in the game, Tom Watson's shot landed on the green, leaving eagle putt, in what me (and 300 other people) believed to be his second shot. the manual scoreboard guy put up a bird when he made the putt, and 300 of us heatstroked patrons yelled and screamed at him to fix it.
after Lee Janzen made the putt and claimed victory over Payne Stewart, Brent Mussberger came out for the trophy presentation. Mussberger was the TV network sports guy who also did the NFL stuff. he was mostly reviled. when he asked Janzen how it felt to win in front of a New York crowd, me and now thousands of heatstroked patrons screamed out "yur in New Jersey you @$$hole!!!!!!.
anyway, if you can find video...on 18, when Payne Stewart putts out and lifts the ball back out of the hole...the camera pans from him to the crowd beyond. if you can pick out the guy in the light colored shorts, Greg Norman signature shark shirt, and Byron Nelson style hat, thats me.

Let me look into it Dad - it's not what we like to see. @ Holy & JTi would strongly advise you to disable the Karma here on your site. JimBob learned his lesson at BAGS, and we never enabled it at IWGC. it's really a meaningless thing that is FUN when it's good, but terrible when misused or to settle scores. it's a temptation to negativity, and the two of you do too many nice things to have it derailed.
