Although Pink Floyd's album "Dark Side of the Moon" is my favorite album, the band is not necessarily my favorite! My favorite band to listen to is Styx. I like every song and every album they have ever made. ;D ;D I was listening to the radio this week and heard the song "Fooling Yourself"..... "Get up, get back on your feet You're the one they can't beat and you know it Come on, let's see what you've got Just take your best shot and don't blow it"

Nice choice Jt. I don't think Styx has ever garnered too much critical acclaim, but I quite enjoy their music. Paradise Theater is a great listen for me.
For my lyrical selection this week, I'm choosing another tune from the 20's. The heat index was nearly 115 here today and it's supposed to be that warm for the next week. This song provides a solution to that problem:
"When it gets too hot for comfort And you can't get ice cream cones 'Tain't no sin to take off your skin And dance around in your bones
When the lazy syncopation Of the music softly moans 'Tain't no sin to take off your skin And dance around in your bones
The polar bears aren't green up in Greenland They've got the right idea They think it's great to refrigerate While we all cremate down here
Just be like those Bamboo Babies In the South Sea tropic zones 'Tain't no sin to take off your skin And dance around in your bones"
'Tain't No Sin - 1929 by Walter Donaldson and Edgar Leslie

It is very true that Styx never seemed to get the acclaim as many of the other groups. A lot of the "older" bands that started touring again seem to have a much larger following. I was 18 years old when I purchased my first Styx album. They will be performing locally next month along with a local classic rock DJ and artist Greg Kihn...
